For the next 3 days I´ll be on the coast! It obviously has a completely different feel than Valdivia or Santigo. To be honest, it is getting really hard for me to decide which region captures the essence of Chile; they´re all so unique. I know that there is a more eloquent word to describe the city, but right now all that comes to mind is "magical"...Lame I know but it just doesn´t seem possible to have so many sun-bleached yet vibrant colors in one place. Everything feels more inspired and alive. Maybe that´s what living on a cliff overlooking the ocean will do to you over extended periods of time. The residential (and my favorite) area of town is exclusively composed of winding little streets that lead straight up. At any given time during the hike I could spin around and snap a picture and it looked too beautiful to be real. Some of the areas closer to the beach are obviously more touristy, but I don´t think I´ll be spending much time there...One goal I have before I leave is to climb to the very top of the cliff and take a picture. Hopefully, 5 days from now I´ll be reading over this entry and inserting the picture at the top...we´ll see.
