It didn't rain until 2pm today! It was kind of odd walking to class without an umbrella and casting a shadow on the sidewalk. The rest of the Chilean students finally began classes at the Universidad Austral, so it was way busier than I'm used to. Through volunteering and other student based activities I'm hoping to get to know some of them! I'm enjoying my schedule were I get specific time set aside to go home and eat a big lunch with the family...and take a nap.
Today I also began planning out a little excursion to Santiago with a few people in my program. Since there are no classes the week of the 18th to celebrate the Chilean independence, it's a great time to travel a little. We're hoping to take the train or bus up there that way we can see the countryside all along the way. It's about a ten hour commute, but only costs about $50 so it's a bargain. My host mom's favorite telenovela had its finale just a few minutes ago so that was a pretty big event; lots of people crying and saying that they're in love with each other. It was entertaining I suppose but I still prefer fútbol.

I love how much telenovelas have become part of your life. Any relation to your unexpected interest in trashy magazines??
