Cooking Shows

There are some pretty entertaining cooking shows that I've been watching while getting ready for school or doing my homework in the evening. It's been a great way to learn a bit of Spanish because the chefs talk much slower because they are multitasking and don't want to chop off a finger. Everything that they describe, they then physically perform so that I immediately have a visual for any new vocabulary. Considering the fact that I love food and eating, I bet I'll make good use of the words I learn in the months to come.
A show that I find particularly amusing is hosted by this guy from Argentina who cracks me up! One time he was whacking apart large hunks of meat and throwing them into cauldrons full of boiling liquid heated by rolling fires. Another time he simply tossed whole pumpkins and onions into the coals for a warm salad creation. This of course takes place outside on grassy meadows, grand estates, even in the snow one time.... All the while he's wearing riding boots, a classy blazer or leather jacket, and a newsboy cap to top it off.  I used to think he was just ridiculous, but after watching him cook in freezing temperatures, he has earned my respect and admiration. The food looks delicious too...I'm not sure if I would ever be able to apply anything I learn from his program, but that's not really the point of any of the cooking shows here. I would rather see him cook up a whole cow in a designer jacket than watch someone else get paid to prepare a dish that I could cook up myself at home.

this is very funny...way better than Rachel Ray...wouldn't you say? He looks like a real skinny guy for all that meat skewering.
