Today's class ended a little out of the ordinary with a bomb threat that was issued over the entire university. I haven't heard any loud explosions and got an email from the teacher about homework tomorrow so I assume that everything everything got smoothed out...After that I went over to a cafe to study Spanish with my friend Pam. We meet up every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon around 4. I really enjoy the time we spend together because its entertaining and productive, believe it or not. I think we just both want to learn Spanish so bad that we aren't constantly getting off topic because we enjoy the topic itself. I met Pam in my first month of intensive classes in January. She is planning her trip around South America that will begin about the time I leave for Chile. Plus, she is planning on making a stop in Valdivia, which we are both very excited about! I don't really have the opportunity to show people the life I've created for myself in Chile, so this is a rare opportunity and I am excited for it. The weather has been kicking it up a notch lately. I walk around constantly sweating. It's 9:15 pm, I am sitting at the kitchen table with an open window and a slight breeze coming in and I can still feel sweat dripping down my back, probably because it's 85 degrees, I just checked. I have never spent significant amounts of time in a climate like this, so it's a new experience that's for sure. I see people walking around in jeans...JEANS during the day when it's humid and in mid 90s. Makes me uncomfortable just thinking about it. I was watching the news with my host mom and we found out that today reached 105 degrees. That would explain why I was so sweaty all day.
