Los Penguinos!!

I just got back from Chiloe, a little island about 6 hours south of Valdivia. I'm back a day earlier than originally planned, which means I was there for a grand total of one night... However, I think that the trip was well worth it and Sophia and I accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. I loved certain parts of Chiloe, (such as the wild penguins) while other parts made me a little sad due to poverty and alcoholism. I would love to go back when I have enough time to check out the little pueblos spread throughout the island, because I think that's really where the island stands out from the rest of Chile. Sophia and I didn't have that kind of time on our hands, so we decided to consolidate the trip so that we could spend the last of our remaining few days in Valdivia. Traveling made me realize how attached I've become to my home, and how it will be hard to leave in a few days. However, I also just got the info about my new host family in Buenos Aires and I am getting excited about that experience at the same time. I will have three host sisters in their twenties living in the house, so that will be a whole new familial setting for me. I'll be moving into their house on the 1st of January, hopefully with the help of my family on their last day before heading back to the States.
