I just got back from a two hour evening stroll with my host mom. I absolutely love walking without a destination, and she was up for the adventure. I can tell that my host mom and been a little disoriented without her husband, and I think the walk really improved her mood. She bought a new pair of sunglasses and bought me a mineral water. Today in Spanish class we all had to tell a legend or short story in Spanish. I picked "Jack in the Beanstalk" and I was surprised by how much easier it is now to tell stories. Telling a story requires a pretty thorough command of the multiple past tenses. Marcelo helped with with a few words when I was translating the story at his house. What a great discovery to realize that I can actually be productive at his place and get some homework done when I really need to. Speaking of being productive, I really should be working on the mounting stack of homework I've accumulated. Final projects are already being assigned, believe it or not. There's really only a month left of classes till the program is over but luckily for me this is just phase 1 of a four part adventure...
