Since I needed a sleeping bag for my overnight construction for Un Techo Para Chile this weekend, my parents took me to Lider, which is basically like Fred Meyer. It was really fun! We ended up all buying the same pair of sweatpants because they were on sale and too soft to resist. And, when we were driving home my mom mentioned how she had the biggest craving to eat fried empanadas. I didn't really think anything of it because almost everyone in Chile feels that way all the time...they are delicious after all. Next thing I know they are telling me to "vaminos" out of the car and into a restaurant that has the best empanadas in Valdivia. It cracked me up because my mom told me on the way into the restaurant that when she wants something, she gets it. And that is exactly what she did (as pictured above)...As we were enjoying our classic combination of fried empanadas and Coca-Cola, we could help but think about how our new sweatpants would come in handy when we get home and don't fit into our normal pants anymore...Now we are all home and in a great mood, and about to drink a bunch of tea get us back on track to being healthy individuals.
