I've seen this group of guys a few times now, it makes for a cool environment because you can hear the thunderous drum rhythm echoing throughout downtown. They always draw a crowd because it is just so cool to stop and watch for a little while.
I think last night I set a personal record for going out. I got back at 6:30 am, so durning my walk back it was light out and the birds were chirping. Despite only being three hours ahead of Seattle in Chile, I feel like I'm in a time zone somewhere in Europe because everything happens so much later here.
Yesterday when a few friends and I were heading home from class we ran into our literature teacher who invited us to a movie she was showing on campus. It was an animated movie in French with Spanish subtitles about the war between Iran and Iraq. Occasionally there were references to American pop culture as well. Overall a very worldly film indeed. I was expecting to not understand a lot of it. However, after a few minutes of adjustment, me and all my friends were able to follow the movie fine and really enjoy it! It was cool to hear some of the similarities between Spanish and French, and remind myself that there are so many other ways to communicate than through English. I think we were all really glad that we decided to go! I really want to watch more films like that...Supposedly there are some pretty good Chilean films that I'd like to check out.

I think the movie was Persepolis, wasn't it? It played in the U.S. 2 years ago, I think. It is a great movie, if it is what I'm thinking of.
